Did you ever hear about the parable by Margaret Fishback Power? Of a woman reflecting on her life journey symbolised by two footprints in sand. One was her own the other one of God who accompanied her throughout. The woman noticed though that in the hardest times of her life, she could only see one track. Doubtfully she questioned the Lord why he broke his promise and left her in her toughest period of times. And the Lord responded, that he loves her and during these phases he did carry her.
Regardless of knowing it, in the dude’s version God would have responded differently. In fact, it would be a new story. Wouldn’t it?
G.: ”You show me how to walk, I can’t experience it alone. You are the brave one the chosen one, or the one with no choice but to put your feet in the sand. It’s painful and beautiful, adventures and exhausting. If you don’t travel I can’t. You do the experience for you and me and the galaxy. Now and here you are the only one who can do the work you are doing. And I thank you for that. I love you. There is only one footmark, which is yours. And you can invite me to join in. If you do so and you let go and let eternity make the steps, then a creative spirit will merge, without you dispersing. Still one track. But consciously two – become one – return to be one. One. Always been. Always will be. Continue. Now. –please.”
